Many of the footpaths date back to medieval times, once serving as the primary means of getting from village to village. Hike the trails and scenic Path of the Gods, the most famous hike on the Amalfi Coast, taking you through citrus orchards and terraced vineyards and historic towns along the way. No surprize, the ‘Costiera Amalfitana’ has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. At the end of the day, relax on the terrace with a post-hike glass of vino!

Day 1 – Naples, May 21 (D)
Arrival at Naples apt, meet and greet by your local assistant and transfer* by private minibus to Sorrento. Accommodation at your hotel, welcome dinner in the restaurant of your hotel.
Day 2 - Pompei, May 22 (B)
Morning excursion to Pompei by private minibus. Meet your local guide for an unforgettable walking tour through the excavations, that takes you back nearly 2000 years. You will see how the town was literally buried under the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Return to Sorrento in the afternoon, time at leisure and dinner on your own.
Day 3 - Path of Gods, May 23 (B)
Transfer by private minibus to Bomerano and start the first hiking tour “Paths of Gods” (aprox 11 km) Probably one of the most famous paths in Italy, this hike moves from Bomerano to Nocelle di Positano, with stunning view of the coast which ranges from the archipelago of Li Galli at your left to the Island of Capri in front of you. Walking in this spectacular scenery, there will be the occasion to meet local shepherd's and farmer, still working and living in this little corner of heaven. Through old vineyards, terrace, farmhouses and monasteries suspended at 650 meters above the sea level, you will have the feeling to walk in a painting with an ever-changing landscape. At the end of the walking tour you will have the chance to visit the charming village of Positano before take again the bus to return in Sorrento. Dinner on your own.
Day 4 – Capri, May 24 (B)
Travel to the Marina piccola and board a hydrofoil for a short crossing of the Mediterranean Sea to the Isle of Capri. Enjoy views of the Faraglioni Rocks and Marina from the sea. Ascend by minibus to Anacapri for the spectacular views all the way to Naples.
Optional hiking tour (included) the sentieri dei Fortini (Path of the little Forts): aprox 6 km from the Lighthouse to the Blue grotto a stunning walking route along the coast of Anacapri, from Punta Carena and the lighthouse to the “Grotta Azzurra” past a series of old blockhouses “Fortini” with return to Sorrento in the late afternoon. Evening free to enjoy the city-center.
Day 5 - Amalfi and Ravello, May 25 (B)
Excursion by private minibus to the Unesco World Heritage site of Amalfi Coast. Stop in Amalfi, the ancient Maritime republic that gives its name to the coast, with the beautiful Cathedral of St. Andrew, its impressive staircase and the charming Cloisert of the Paradise. Continue to Ravello, nestled at 350 mt asl, with its elegant villas that have made it one of the coast’s most enchanting towns. The gardens and the panoramic viewpoints at Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone are stunning and definitely absolutely breathtaking. Optional hiking tour: (included-if someone does not wish to hike, they can spend free time) From Amalfi through the coastal village of Atrani, up to Ravello along a paved road. Approx 4 km. Return to Sorrento in the late afternoon, evening and dinner free.
Day 6 – Monte Faito, May 26 (B)
Hiking tour to the highest peaks of the Sorrento Peninsula, for lovers of nature and landscapes (aprox 08-10 Km). By local train reach Castellammare di Stabia and then take the cableway up to Monte Faito 1.200 mt, overlooking the gulf of Naples. You will start hiking through a forest of beeches, chestnut trees and wild orchids in April-May. You will reach Monte Conocchia 1380 meters and Monte Molara with a height of 1444m, the roof of the Sorrento’s peninsula, with stunning view of the Amalfi Coast and the gulf of Salerno. Return to Sorrento in the afternoon by coach, dinner on your own.
Day 7 – Sorrento, May 27 (B)
Free day in Sorrento.
Day 8 – Sorrento, May 28 (B, D)
A full day in Sorrento for personal activities, shopping or just to relax by the beach.
In the evening farewell dinner, three course menu.
Day 9 – Departure, May 29 (B)
Check out and transfer to Naples apt. (1 group transfer to the airport)

Group price* is based on minimum of 20 guests. Groups with less than 20 are subject to a surcharge of $250 per person. Groups with less than 15 are subject to cancellation.
We reserve the right to deviate from the tour itinerary, inclusions or hotels should circumstances dictate. If a hotel is not available, we reserve the right to substitute a hotel of similar rating.
Cancellations: 91 days and over prior to departure – loss of per person deposit, 90 – 61 days prior to departure – 50% per person of the total trip cost, 60 – 45 days prior to departure 75% per person of the total trip cost, 45 – Day of departure/no show – 100% per person of the total trip cost.
Additional supplier penalties may apply depending on the date of cancellation.
Amendments: An administration fee of $125 per person may apply to any changes made to your booking once confirmed, including but not limited to changes in pre/post trip accommodation and transfers. Please note that name changes are not allowed and flight changes are subject to availability and airline policies. Additional change fees may be charged by suppliers.
Refunds: No refund is available if cancellations occur after the trip has commenced or in respect to any trips, accommodation, meals or any other services not utilized.
Itinerary Changes & Trip Cancellation: Further Afield Travel and Tours reserves the right to vary itineraries should circumstances dictate, as well as cancel or reschedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements, or circumstances beyond its control. Hotels listed may be replaced with similar accommodation should the noted hotel not be available at time of confirmation. The advertised tours require minimum numbers to depart. Should these not be met, Further Afield Travel and Tours reserves the right to cancel arrangements.
