Day 1 - Viking City of Reykjavik - Iceland
Welcome to Iceland. At Reykjavik's Keflavik airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Join your Travel Director and travelling companions at 6:15pm for your Welcome Reception and enjoy the opportunity to get to know each other over a pleasant evening of wine and a light buffet. Afterwards, search for the most spectacular show on Earth - the Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis. See the breathtaking night sky filled with an array of different colours. Please note: The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and therefore sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Day 2 - South Shore Adventure to Vik
Reykjavik - Iceland, Hvolsvollur - Iceland, Vik - Iceland
Take a journey through the stunning landscape of Iceland's south coast to visit its newest geothermal heat and electric power station at Hellisheidarvirkjun. Travel to the modern Lava Centre in Hvolsvollur, dedicated to Iceland's riveting volcanic activity and earthquakes. Your journey continues as you witness the majesty of Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss. Stand awestruck by the beauty and power force of these thundering waterfalls before venturing on to view more phenomena. After seeing the magnificent Hekla and Eyjafjallajokull volcanoes, arrive in the welcoming community of Vik. Later, perhaps enjoy another chance to go in search of the mystical Northern Lights? Enjoy dinner tonight with your group.

Day 3 - JoKulsarlon Glacial Lagoon Park
Vik - Iceland
At Jokulsarlon the ancient blue ice of Breidamerkujokull Glacier meets the sea. Here colossal icebergs begin their journey, and you can find some glistening on the shore of the Diamond beach. Jokulsarlon has been chosen as the backdrop for many famous blockbusters and is the highlight that can't be missed while visiting Vatnajokull Glacier. Discover Iceland's deepest lake, where massive ice chunks break free and drift out into the open ocean. Visit Reynisfjara Beach, it has been picked as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world with it's black sand and blue water. Return to Vik for a free evening.

Day 5 - Thingvellir, Borgarnes and Húsafell
Fludir - Iceland, Thingvellir - Iceland, Reykholt - Iceland
Continue to Thingvellir, a remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site that lies on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge line, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. The first meeting of the Icelandic parliament was held here in A.D.930. In Borgarnes, learn about Iceland's history with a fascinating visit to the Icelandic Settlement Centre. Your travels continue to Deildartunguhver, Europe's most powerful hot spring. Journey along the trail of Viking warrior and poet Egill Skallagrimsson and stop at Reyholt for an orientation with your Travel Director. Enjoy views of the Hraunfossar an dBarnafoss waterfalls as you drive through glorious landscapes. Enjoy dinner tonight.

Day 6 - Blue Lagoon

Relax and enjoy your final day with a visit to Reykjavik's Blue Lagoon accompanied by a celebratory cocktail. Choose to bathe in the pleasantly warm, mineral-rich geothermal waters, or perhaps enjoy a water massage or spa treatment? Travel insurance is required for all guests covering all applicable dates of travel. This insurance must cover, trip interruption, personal injury, medical expenses, evacuation and repatriation coverage including during pandemic events. Insurance should include emergency coverage for covid-19 related complications and quarantine expenses. Proof of insurance is required.
Cancellations: 91 days and over prior to departure – loss of per person deposit, 90 – 61 days prior to departure – 50% per person of the total trip cost, 60 – 31 days prior to departure 75% per person of the total trip cost, 30 – Day of departure/no show – 100% per person of the total trip cost.
Additional supplier penalties may apply depending on the date of cancellation.
Amendments: An administration fee of $75 may apply to any changes made to your booking once confirmed, including but not limited to changes in pre/post trip accommodation and transfers. Please note that name changes are not allowed and flight changes are subject to availability and airline policies.
Refunds: No refund is available if cancellations occur after the trip has commenced or in respect to any trips, accommodation, meals or any other services not utilized.
Itinerary Changes & Trip Cancellation: Further Afield Travel and Tours reserves the right to vary itineraries should circumstances dictate, as well as cancel or reschedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements, or circumstances beyond its control. The advertised tours require minimum numbers to depart. Should these not be met, Further Afield Travel and Tours reserves the right to cancel arrangements.
Trip Membership: Any person aged 12 or more is eligible, through if less than 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The Travel Director may at his/her discretion, require any person to withdraw from any trip if he or she deems the person’s acts or conduct offensive or a nuisance to other passengers, and we shall have no further liability.
Air: Airfare is NOT included and is an additional cost.
Baggage Allowance & Porterage: Porterage of one suitcase per person is included in the trip price for arrival & departure from hotels in Europe. Due to limited coach capacity, the dimensions must not exceed 30” x 18” x 10” (76x46x25cm) and weight should not exceed 23km (50 Lbs). Charges may be levied in the event these limits are exceeded & the promise to transport you may be invalidated.
